Eye Care Awareness // November 26

On Nov 26th, McGill attending staff, technicians, nurses, residents, and medical students staffed a free screening eye clinic. The aim is to improve access to ophthalmic care for seniors, those with language barriers, and people without a general ophthalmologist.

Also, on Nov 12, McGill residents and medical students coordinated a public education day at Place Vertu mall and offered information about eye health and common ocular diseases, e.g. cataract, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and dry eyes. The display at the shopping center featured a slit-lamp and a television screen to enable people to appreciate the eye under the microscope.
